30mm fork upgrades was created by Youngdrakeo

Hey yamaha legends.

Has anyone modified or improved the stock 30mm forks found on the ct3?
Has anyone installed racetech cartridges?

I rebuilt mine and  am running 10w oil
The sag is expected with the age but the rebound is quite poor. Once it's compressed it tends to stay like it if there's some weight on them.

Partzilla just posted some interesting stuff about fork oil's... You may want to check them out.
I'm going to drain mine out and start messing with them because of the info they posted..

This is what you need. Webco helper springs to replace the spacers and reduce sag and a trickit kit to improve the dampening.

Set the sag with preload spacer length, get stiffer spring if you find yourself bottoming out the forks on bumps, I run 30wt oil. If you're suffering from fork stiction after rebuild make sure you got grease in the seals like this video

Sounds like the forks are binding internally if not returning. Oil won't stop the spring return but just slow down or speed up how instantly it returns--"damping". Not spacers that were on top of the springs sitting under the bench still?. Sorry, had to ask.
Bike looks very nice i must say.
