CT2 Highbeam Indicator Light was created by xt350pilot

I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion where to get the tiny 6V 1.5W pilot bulbs OR and replacement assy that will fit in the headlight bucket?  It looks like Partzilla has the actual bulb but thought someone here might have an alternate solution.  Shipping to Canada is a bit expensive but, will go that route if needed.

Mine isn't working and I need to get it rectified for inspection.

Thanks!!

If you haven't done so already, try an online auto/motor factor store.

The bulbs can be a right bugger to remove and the assembly internals rust for fun - are yours ok?

Yeah.  You called it correctly!

It was rusted in and was a bear to get out.  The socket was also rusted.  I’ll clean it up the best I can and order in some of those bulbs.  It’s funny that this tiny bulb is going to be the one item to prevent me from getting this bike on the road!

Well, if you're unsuccessful in cleaning the rust out and making it usable, and nothing is cheaper in Canada or the US, then I currently have this item on fleabay.

Yamaha pilot lamp high beam warning 256-84350 256-84301 PLEASE READ | eBay UK

If Canada uses fleabay Global Shipping, then you might see a postage quote when you look at the listing, otherwise I think that I can send it over from the UK for between £20 and £25 posted (depends on whether or not I can safely pack it in a 25mm height box).

Search for a BA7s 6v 1.5 watt bulb.

Amazon US has them, even LED versions  I'm pretty sure they were also used in the old 6v VW beetles so if you have a vintage VW shop they might have them.

Another option I've done is to get a small 6v LED with leads.   Tape or glue it into the lens holder.  Worked good on a bike where the bulb socket was corroded beyond repair. www.amazon.com/PATIKIL-3V-Light-Emitting.../dp/B0C9T97VZQ/?th=1

Or they have these kind of lights- www.amazon.com/Gebildet-3V-4-5V-5V-6V-7-...r/dp/B0B7MPWSZV?th=1

Note that the links may not be for items that will work perfectly...  I just randomly picked items to illustrate the "idea".  You'll have to measure or whatever to make sure they will work for you

Thanks for the help fellas!

MarkT - I did some digging online to fine the "base type" and ended up at the same conclusion you provided. :). I ordered some BA7s LEDs on Amazon. I had to get 10 but still they were not terribly expensive.  I'm hopeful they will work.  Your wired LED is good solution!  A bit of silicone would hold that nicely in the stock "lens" and would do the trick.

Gr8uncleal - Thanks for the link! I'll let you know if I need this one. I'm cleaning mine up but will know very soon if my efforts are for not.

Some LED's are polarity sensitive, and since the headlight runs on AC, a polarity-sensitive LED might flicker but should work.  And a lot of LED's these days are no longer polarity sensitive.

Another place you can't use a polarity sensitive bulb is the turn signal indicator bulb in the gauges.
