Clutch pushrod was created by kitkatman
Hi Everyone,
Could someone tell me the correct length of the clutch pushrod for the RT2. Also is the same pushrod used for the RT1.
Thanks. Alan.

I can't give you a length , but the RT1 and RT2 use different pushrods .

The good thing I guess is if you make it too long at least you can pull it out the left side & shorten it a bit. Exact length may vary depending on if aftermarket fibers fitted etc.

There are two pushrods, long rod and then the short "nail head" one... according to parts lists they appear to be the same part number for the 250/360 from 68 to 73?
Most common "length" issue is the 5/16" ball is missing between the two pushrods.

Length is 7.20". With the clutch properly assembled and installed the rod sticks out 1.25".
I have a NOS rod part # 183-16357-00 still in the package. I have several original printed parts manuals for the '68-'73 250 and 360 Enduros. Some have # 214-16357-00 and some have # 183-16357-00. One of my '71 DT1E manuals looks like it was in a dealer back in the day. The part # prefix 214 was crossed out and 183 handwritten. I've had dozens of motors apart and I haven't seen any difference in the push rods.

The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

Clutch adjusting screw is going in to far, not much thread left for locknut. So will get a piece of silver steel Rod and make a new one a few mill longer. Once again thanks for all reply’s. Alan.

If there should be a ball bearing fitted, is it there (see Mark's earlier reply)?

Another pitfall is the worm gear has split and slipped?
Or something wrong with the clutch pack assembly? (As simple as a loose inner hub nut.)
Making a new longer than original pushrod seems like, at best, a patch to mask the real issue.

I think Mark mentioned the 5/16 big ball between the mushroom & rod which won't fall out unless you had the clutch off & leant it to the right a bit, if you had the mushroom out at all. But there's a 1/4 ball set into the actuator which shouldn't fall out as lightly crimped in but have a look just incase, as that's about the difference you're looking for by the sound of it.
