Just back it out until you stop feeling the slide hitting it on a closed throttle. Just let the throttle flick shut with finger on the screw & you’ll feel it tap down. Keep backing off until you can’t feel the click. In theory the slide should be sitting right down & you’ll hear a bigger click as it bottoms out. That’s providing your cable had enough free play to allow it to bottom out. You can then safely start it & when it’s warmed up a bit & happy with choke closed just screw that speed screw to get whatever idle you desire. I’ll leave it there for now as I’ve complicated it enough for one sitting. Hope it works out.

I could be wrong but I've never seen in any manual where it tells you how many turns to set the idle screw, it just tells you at what RPM it should be set.

Just be careful when you turn the throttle screw inward. It contacts a small ramp angle on the slide and it can possibly bite into the ramp and cause a dimple in the angled surface. It’s best to turn the throttle a small amount to raise the slide and then turn the screw inward. Then let the throttle return and settle the slide ramp onto your new screw position. These photos show the damage I did on my otherwise nice slide. I was able to dress the surface lightly and minimize the dimples. One of many lessons I learned here on this forum.
