Ignition switch for European DT/RT 2/3 was created by Gr8uncleal
Mark suggested that some of you might be interested in the ignition switch for the Euro version of the bikes shown in the title.
I came across this one by accident, when I bought it as an "unknown Honda" switch.
The switch has 4 positions, including off. The last one is for front and rear "Park" lights - UK/Euro front lights have an additional small bulb in the lens, typically 3 to 4 watts, and this is fed by the blue wire with a red stripe.
The arrangement of the other wires is different to those in the US switch. Presumably the wiring within the main harness is different as well.
I have attached some photos of my switch, together with a couple of nice clear ones from the CMSNL site. Funnily enough, my lock number is the next one up from the one in the CMSNL photos.

Thanks... curious if in the 4th position the ignition is still on?
I was told years ago that the small bulb in the headlight was called a "city light"... and that it was actually meant to be used for night riding in places with brightly lit city streets?
(Others have called it more of a "parking light" position... which infers the ignition would be off.)

In the 4th position, ignition is off and the key can be removed. However, on other models with the same switch and the bike has a lights on/off switch, position 3 is park lights only and ignition on, until the lights switch is moved to "On". To be honest, I had never really understood this arrangement, but what you said about a "City Light" makes a bit more sense of it.

Thank you, it sounds like both arrangements are plausible depending on the year of the bike?
I tried to find the actual laws years ago but never did.
