Engine rebuild was created by 45chop

Hi all, I’m new here, just rebuilding a 1972 dt 360 rt2 in the Uk. Engine was seized and I’m struggling for some parts. I’ve done the bottom end, new bearings, just waiting for seals. I’d like a new piston kit but that seems not to exist. Currently 2nd oversize and not too bad condition. I’ve ordered new rings and I’d also like to replace the small end bearing. Can anyone give me the correct part number and a link to buy replacement ?
Thanks in advance. Hi all, I’m new here, just rebuilding a 1972 dt 360 rt2 in the Uk. Engine was seized and I’m struggling for some parts.  from near Salisbury, Wiltshire.

Online parts lists are available at CMSNL (Holland) and Partzilla (US). There will also be various manuals in the Tech Library on this site (see top toolbar).

If you're intending to run the lights and sticking with the original 6v system, then be sure to fit a 6v voltage regulator (see attached for details). The original document is available for download in the Tech Library.

Whilst the barrel is off, make sure to clean out the hole for the decompression valve.

Amazing, thanks for the tips. The barrel has had the decompression port blocked and a plug in the barrel, not sure I want to mess with it, given how rare parts are. I’ve purchased a universal decompression valve to go in the 2nd spark plug hole to resolve the problem for now.Amazing, thanks for the tips. Welcome from NZ. Is that blank off long enough to block the hole through at the cylinder. hole comes out then straight down to exhaust port outlet. Be easy to blow or squrt something each way to see. If not totaly blocked it'll feel soft on the kick start. I put a ball bearing bigger than the hole & a bolt to lightly compress it to the hole. In saing that, in my opinion, it won't kill it if its open constantly. Many models like out AG175 & even RD400's had an open hole with no valve. But was drill steeply to get direct to the port outlet. Did that on my YZ465G for enduro riding to help starting when i'm lying totaly Stuffed on the handlebars & out of energy haha. Sorry, digressing. There's many piston kits that should work like later DT360A etc. As usual i'm happy to be corrected--or scolded & corrected.

Yes. Sorry, forgot to mention that it is still available from Yamaha and will likely be cheapest if you can order it from your local dealer. Won't even have to be a Yamaha dealer, as I think that Fowlers are the wholesalers that most UK bike shops use.

Yambits looks like pattern - probably OK, but I prefer original if available.

When you post photos, insert them individually to prevent duplication (just a quirk of the system).
