CT1 carb rebuild kit? was created by Tim Cerepak
I’m looking for a carb revealed kit for my CT1 that has reeds. Everything I see on eBay has kits for carbs without reeds.
I’m wondering if there’s a big difference between the two kids or if I should just get the kid on eBay.

At first glance, that looks like a 1973 CT3. You can confirm this by checking the VIN/engine numbers against those in the VIN tables, which are in the Tech Library (see top toolbar).
Avoid rebuild kits. If you think parts are damaged and/or need replacing, then they might still be available from Yamaha or a Mikuni dealer. Definitely replace the 'O' ring on the setter jet.
Also replace the brake shoes, unless you know that they were replaced recently. Again, these are still available from Yamaha.

Yep, you nailed it. Definatly needed back brakes.. the shoes were rust-welded to the hubs.
Im surprised your identifying it as a CT3.. the Frams is stamped CT-1 XXXX.
Fair warning, im new to Yahama Enduro' and i'm learning as i go.

There's a whole lot of grief heading the way of anyone who uses the VIN number to identify what model their Yamaha is (not just enduros).........!!

Yes, (at least) five different models/years of 175's had VIN numbers with a "CT1" prefix. You need to use the entire VIN number to identify which model you have or experience a lot of grief getting wrong parts... like you will if you try to use CT1 carb parts on your CT3.
1963 YG1-T, 1965 MG1-T, Allstate 250, 1970 CT1b, 1971 R5, 1973 AT3MX, 1974 TS400L, 1975 RD350, 1976 DT175C, 1976 Husqvarna 250CR, 1981 DT175G, 1988 DT50, 1990 "Super" DT50, 1991 RT180, 2017 XT250

Hello Tim, Dave here from Blackpool England.
Your bike looks to be a CT3 for sure. It has a torque induction motor ( 7 ports and a reed valve ) , i can see it on one of the pics. The exhaust mount on the frame brace ,aluminium fork leg lowers ,different tank than a CT1 and it's direct derivatives and the clip type tank cap. It also has the paint design for a 1973 bike.
Mine has a 21" front wheel ,yours looks to be 18"
Check them out
CT1
CT3
There are internal differences too with the gearbox and kick start idler gears . CT 3 is stronger due to the way the gears are cut and designed.
If you want to see more stuff i would like to suggest visiting Micou Meekoo on Youtube
Say good bye to several enjoyable hours of viewing life.
Welcome along .
