Yamaha DT3 wins best vintage Japanese motorcycle was created by steam_biker

I recently entered my DT3 Enduro into the Scottish Motorcycle Show at Ingliston, Edinburgh. 
Much to my surprise and delight, it won best Japanese Motorcycle in show! It was displayed on the VJMC stand and unfortunately I wasn't there due to work commitments.

Big Congrats! Very nice bike. I am in the U.S. VJMC had a big east coast meet in Gettysburg Pa. last year. I called and asked if I could display 2 of my enduros in their bike show. They asked if I was a member. I said No, and they said No. Guess I won't be joining either. I like it here, in the forum, better any way. All of the Car Show promoters in my area love it when we bring our old bikes. We bring Kaw 900s, Honda Ct-70s, Yam enduros. Nothing newer than 1975. These are shows that draw $150K customs and we have a crowd around our bikes, answering questions all day.

I had a similar experience long ago at a car show, I had a nice 1969 Chevelle Super Sport SS396, it was nice but in no way was it a show stopper or a $150K trailer queen, I knew it would never win a trophy or place against the trailer queens. I was ok with that it was a driver, the car show people wanted me to join their club $75.00 annual fee and pay $40.00 to enter it in the show and I had to sign that I wouldn’t leave early and the car had to stay all day and wait till after judging and trophy presentation. I told them you want ME to pay You money so you can charge $5.00 to everyone at the gate to enter and look at my car and other peoples car so you can hand out (3) $25.00 trophy’s and (3) $25.00 gift certificates to a auto parts store? I TOLD THEM NO THANKS!

Very nice, congrats and well done. I kind of envy people with that eye for detail and the patience to do all that shining.
I have a rat-looker to go paddock bashing... priceless but not price winning.
But again, very nice to show the people out there what nice things have been made in the past.

The colour is actually Yamaha Competition Green.
