DT2 carb rebuild kit was created by AirborneSilva

Hey guys, I need to rebuild my DT2's carb, the service manual says it's a VM26SH.  I can find kit's for a VM26-606 would that kit work?  Thanks!

Be careful about kits. Some of the parts are inferior. Best to use individual Mikuni parts that are new, never been used. Sudco and Jetsrus.com are good sources.

I know that you're not in the UK, Tony, but if there are any Brits wondering about this, then Motocarb and Allens over here both stock Mikuni parts.

Thank you for the replies guys, here's the kit I'm looking at, it has Mikuni logo on it and is even marked "made in Japan"

Thanks Tony, that's interesting.

I seem to recall that Niche are deemed reputable sellers and I would be interested to know if others have used these. Also, if appropriate parts (eg needles and jets) have the Mikuni logo on them.

I would trust that the Mikuni kit is legit however that is for a different carb than the Enduro has. Looks like some of the parts are either not included or are different.

Also I've seen jets that were drilled out and needles that were shortened and reshaped from used carbs that I've bought as well as on bikes that I've bought.

Its best to buy genuine new parts in unopened packages. Mikuni has a unique logo stamped in them.

For anyone that is unsure, the Mikuni logo on jets etc is a small square in the corner of a larger square. A magnifying glass and extra light is sometimes needed to see properly, particularly on used parts!

Thanks Alan, while I was aware of that I'm sure there's plenty of people new to our awesome hobby that are not.  I really just found this out a few months ago and only with the knowledge of this group...

Very little to actualy wear out. Apart from the float needle & seat which i'd leave alone if not leaking. The slide needle is the only moving bit [well ok the slide too]. Needle can wear & so can the emulson tube metering bit at the top where needle saws away slowly. But even that bit lasts well--for 50 years. Little Oring is possibly the most important as seals into the bowl & the side main jet. If that leaks its all downhill with rich mixture & no revs. Anyway--hope ya get it sorted. Oh, a new bowl gasket would be good.
