73' MX CDI puller thread size was created by tzsv4k
Does anyone know the thread size the the CDI threads on a 360 MX?
I need to pull the rotor on a 73' 360 MX. I have a 19mmx1.0mm RH which seems to start but 'binds' real soon making me think the pitch isn't correct.
I don't find 19x1.25 or 19x1.5 pullers anywhere.
Any help would be great.
Thank you.

So long as the binding isn't because the shaft has bottomed in the puller, as that's what its meant to do & the tighten more & give a smack. I'll measure mine tomorrow if i can find it. Usually falls off the wall & hides in my boots till next ride lol. I guess you're talking internal rotor which is what i'm thinking.

This is the one i'm thinking & looks 1.25, definitely coarser than 1.0.

EDIT: Dennis Stubblefield website lists puller MP#7 for the MX/YZ models. Not sure if one below is correct?
Actually Mako has provided links to pullers on some of the pages here.
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009NNU1MC/ref...d25f2ec7cd1358e5bd63
It says 20 x 1.5 which sounds right.
I found the link to the puller on the "messages" page margin.

Thanks for looking for yours.
The puller I'm using for the DT3 250 mag is this one from Motion Pro....
www.amazon.com/Orange-Cycle-Parts-Flywhe...84138857833490&psc=1
Exact same requirement / fitment for the MX 360 but different size / pitch.
I'm almost willing to buy the various size / pitch bolts and drill them for the crank shaft end to make sure on size.

I'm not sure if you saw it or not but I posted some puller info back a few posts.
Maybe you did see it and are ignoring it and that's fine... but it seems a lot of people on here are relying on the "notification emails" or maybe they are writing a response when something is being posted?
In any case it's a good practice to scroll back through the posts especially after posting a response as something could have snuck in.
And don't rely on the notification emails... you won't get an email for every response.

Now i'm confused. If i'm on the right post haha. You now say you're using a DT3 puller which is a full flywheel 27mm lefthand thread?. MarkT has sorted the small rotor puller as 1.5 pitch--all good thanks, but not sure where i am now.

You're not confused RT325... or we both are!

In the past couple days I've seen several questions answered here very clearly and directly and then the person originally asking the question posts up something along the lines of how desperate they are and how they wish they could get the answer. Sometimes it might be the person missed reading the post with the answer... but other times it seems the person asking the question has their mind made up or something and can't accept the answer...
Oh well, I certainly miss things and I certainly can get stuck not seeing the forest for the trees at times.

I just can't remember seeing it happen as often lately... even on a project where I work. A few times at work this last week I swear I was stuck in that old Abbot and Costello routine "who's on first". So probably just me.

Ok guys I've got a 20mm x 1.5 internal RH thread on the way. Same style as my DT3 magneto puller but different thread/pitch.
There is room around the back side of the CDI rotor for a 3 jaw puller but doesn't look healthy ... and since they gave us a threaded puller 'hole', I'll stick to that.
The 19mm size binds up after 1/8 to 1/4 turn so it can't be the right one.
I'll post on how it works out.
Thanks a lot for all the help.

I'd like to see a picture of that puller when you get it. For the MX inner rotor models the only style I've ever seen is basically a hollow bolt that threads into the rotor and then the "hollow" bottoms out on the end of the crank which pulls the rotor.
Never seen an MX puller that's the same style as the common DT3 27mm x 1.0LH with a bolt you tighten after threading it into the flywheel.
