Hi on a 72 dt250 where does the front indicator wiring run if it runs on the bars are there any straps that hold them I assume they run into rear of headlamp any photos of this much appreciated also anyone know we’re I can source the rear indicators earth wires in UK ta

First up, don't forget that you have a DT2, not a DT250. I know that makes me sound like an arse, but it might stop you buying wrong parts!
By the way, if your avatar photo is your actual bike, then you have a 1973 DT3 (don't be misled by the date stamp on the frame). Look up your frame number in the VIN tables in the Tech Library here to confirm.
Yes, there is a white band on each side of the handlebars that secures all of the wires in place. The original Yamaha part is no longer available and nos is stupidly priced, therefore I bought Honda part number 95014-62100, which is very similar, very cheap and still available. Photos of my RT2 attached.
I tend to make up my own earth leads - black wire, M8 crimped ring connector at one end and crimped male bullet connector at the other. If you're struggling, then I could probably knock up a couple for you from my own spares - just £1 to cover postage (I'm near Salisbury, UK).

I think Yambits do a reproduction cable tie and also have earth wires for indicators for other models which may be suitable.
