1968 DT1 question was created by 9gingers

I have a 68 DT1 with the rusty original White tank which slides on instead of bolting on-my question would it have the Red badges on the tank and would it have the small tach? It's serial number is #DT1-140xx. Thanks

It looks like 14090 was the last one made. Would be cool if that was yours! I can't help with your questions though...still looking for a 68. Probably a lot of 69 parts would be correct for yours since you have a very late model.

Thanks for response. It is #14004. It has the two bolt tail light on the stock rear fender.

That tail light is cool I would have suspected the three hole.

All US ‘68 DT1’s had red tank badges and small tachometers. That said there were several changes including gas tank mounting done after VIN 13000. The below details the fuel tank changes.

‘70 RT1
‘70 CT1-B
2 - ‘70 HT-1’s

Very helpful-Thanks. Now if I can find a couple head light ears for my 68-previous owner sawed half the ears off! They are narrower than 69 on, and without hole for turn signals.

The 68 DT1's did not have signal lights therefore no hole for the signal lights only one hole to mount the headlight in each. Are you sure they have been "sawed off"? Post a photo.

I added some pics. I found it on a several week old Craigslist ad-left a phone message and forgot about it(assuming it had sold already). A week later owner called, still had it, so I drove 30 miles that evening to check it out. I see why nobody purchased it! I already had some extra 69 wheels, seat, etc so when the price got to $260.00 we wrestled it into the trunk of my Camry with the front end hanging out the back, and under the cover of darkness I headed home.
