I'm searching for a CT2 or 3 motor, really only interested in a good bottom end.  I don't need clutch or magneto but do need transmission and probably kickstart gear.  Thanks!

Assembled cases?  Or just the "guts"?

Hi Mark, really looking for something assembled.  I'm having a major issue with the darn kickstart and idler gear.  I've tried changing right side case half but it's still catching and now I've spent enough money on it so I'm just looking for a complete good bottom end that I can put my clutch, top end and mag on it.  This darn bike is turning into a money pit to the inth degree!  

Question for you Mark, I found a complete CT1 motor, will that fit in my frame and can I use the top end of my CT2? Thanks

Yes.  Just make sure it's a CT (magneto crank end with nut and external threads) and not an AT (generator crank end that uses bolt and internal threads))

The vin shows it as a CT1 Here's the ad:   CT1 motor

Thanks Mark, I went ahead and ordered it. On another note, I bought another CT2 yesterday, they only thing that's missing off it is the air cleaner box and the rear brake spring and connecting rod, other than that it has all lights w/turn signals that all work.

After rebuilding 3 CT3's I wouldn't think you need a new motor. Both the items you mentioned, I have fixed with used parts. And 1 of the 3 is a money pit but I think I'll get my money back (not labor).

Don't give up on what you have. Beleive me, I've been where you're at but some things can't be rushed.

I'm not confident in splitting cases and then getting them back together but will try it soon.  I've had this one in the shop twice, when I get it back it works fine for a very short time then it doesn't...  Same issue, we (they) tried different fixes but same result, this motor is cursed.  I have a CT1 motor coming that I'm going to put my new CT2 top end on and drive on...
