Got to say this is the BEST Service, Communication and Ship Time that I have ever received from Partzilla!!

Appears they have a new e-mail system and it is awesome in notifying and keeping you up to date on your order.

Out of 18 items I ordered... only the rear sprocket was B/O and they had it in 2 days. Order was Filled complete, Shipped and received in 4 days.

Hope this is a new beginning for them as I do like their prices for sure!

So- a lot of progress can now be made on the Efest Special now-

Going with a 14/42 set up to give this bike a nice combination for trail riding and some street capabilities.

Also gives me the chain travel height that I need to clear the front swing arm with the taller shocks on the rear.

The title for this is, project: "Endurofest special".

With the cool black and red theme. I cant help but saying I would refer to it as "The Black Widow"

Or "Widow Maker". That thing is going to really haul.

well that was my inspiration to look for a similiar fork, i´ve already extended my original one with extensions 30mm but i also liked the pullback risers on your´s. so i bought something that was advertised as an DT 400 MX (here in europe thats the monoshock model, 78).
first thing i discovered is that this thing is aluminum, which i really liked. ve polished it and will use it as is, i like the raw "werks"-look. :-) the fork is about 60mm longer then the original one, but the strange thing is, and that´s different from what you´ve got there, mine has the same holders for the original down-fender, same as the dt-1 fork. only difference is that the screws to drain the oil are in a different position, everything else is pretty much the same. i´m really happy with that since i want to use the original fender, today i´ve cleaned the whole thing and i will install everything tomorrow.

Very interesting note on the low fender mounts on the later bikes! That probably means an early style fork brace would also bolt on!

I have always assumed the Mono bike front forks were likely more matched to the Mono rear so might actually offer better performance.
IF it isn't one thing, it's another.

i hope so. i have 360mm Konis in the rear that i got NOS, the height is perfect for me with the 30mm fork extension, and the Konis are, well, Konis, can´t get any better than that. We´ll see how they go with the new Fork, i´ll let you know.

Time to get some work done on the "Black Widow" EnduroFest Special.

After a lot of thinking and lining things up... decided to go with a 44 Rear Sprocket to 1st give a little more clearance on the chain travel over the top of the swing arm...

I am not a big fan of the Black Sprockets for the Enduro's but.... for this bike- there was no other choice as it had to be Black!

I also dislike the looks of the factory lock washer plates as they always look chewed up to me when installed- Want that clean look- Stainless steel bolts, Lock washers and a little "Blue" Loctite torqued down and looks real good!

The rear sprocket size will give me nice range for trail and street and can dial it in with the front sprocket as I have new 14T and a 15T...

Dropped the engine in to give it a final check- This is the 14T and just clears it with the Rear Wheel off the ground so will be fine.

Have a feeling the 15T will be the perfect match for trail and street riding.

Had a brand new chain in my parts stash and has plenty off length to work with- remove a few links and it will be a perfect fit!

Have been thinking about the front amber side reflectors... and the orginal stock ones just did not look right...

So- found a nice Reflector that will be perfect- Has a black back and edges and the amber color is a little darker giving it a nice rich look.

Headlight is now installed- The clips from Mikes XS worked great- Just need to finish up the wiring and it will be ready to go!

Decided to use the basic black wire loom cover verses the standard looking casing... gives it a little more of something? I like it!

So- with a table full of new parts should be able to make some real progress on this project this week-end.

This is my favorite part of any build when every little part you bolt on really starts to take shape.

Will also be installing the top end this week-end and performing the Leak Down Test to make sure the Main Seals are good and then will finish up with setting the timing.
