Oil Tank Issues was created by Green53

Hi, I have a rusty oil tank and tried using cleaning vinegar but the level window and seal are bad and it leaks. Everything below the window came out nice but there is still some light rust above. I have a new window and seal and will install them, but will the vinegar attack them? Also, is it ok to install an inline filter, just in case one tiny piece of crud sneaks through and stops my new to me oil pump? Thanks.

Note that added inline filter is "screen type".  DEET probably has them.
