Clutch holding tool 73 dt3 was created by principal282

Is there a specific tool used to hold it in place while removing/torquing back down? I am gonna get an impact from harbor freight but want to be sure.
I hate to spend money on a tool I will used so sparingly. But I guess people get flat tires etc

I bought an electric impact wrench and a metric socket set from harbor freight. It broke the clutch nit and the main gear nut loose without any issue. Im just waiting on my oil seal to come in so i can put it all back together.

The electric Chicago worked great for me. I tried the $28 dollar air one but i dont think my air line was large enough. It did not break it loose. I took it back and got the electric as i figured for my needs it would be more consistent and just as easy as breaking out air lines. Hooked it to an extension cord. and it broke them loose without any issue. As stated, both my nuts are broke looses and im waiting on seal to arrive.

im guessing with the right amount of volume and air, the air impact would have worked as well

This works great. There are many other brands and larger ones.

I use power tools just to initially loosen. If you spin nuts, bolts and screws too fast it will gall the threads.
The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.
