was at NAPA today and saw the large selection of Dupli Color paint. Thought I would post up a few colors for reference. Note, each spoon has 2 coats base and 3 Dupli Clear. I've seen the paint thread, but didn't see one that did a direct comparison to a fender painted in 1973. The fender is from my 1974 DT 125 A.

paint comparisons:

The original fenders and side cases were not gloss, however the 1615 needs protection so I gloss it and then dust it to get the right finish.

I am happy w/the outcome. I did end up w/Dupli Color Starlight Silver and Spray Max 2K Clear Glamour 368-0061. Example below take from my DT360 Resto thread.

I would love to see a basic silver with various levels of flake added to it as comparison. I am no painter, but the next time I do this, I'll be experimenting w/flakes. Gotta watch out though. I keep having visions of those old good times vans. He he.

That looks great! Thanks for the help. I am restoring a 78 RD400 that is Crystal Silver, so this is very helpful. My 81 DT175 is next in line.
