1966 YGS1 says hello was created by kzeppelin2

Hello all. I found this bike nearly 20 years ago in my wife's grandmother's basement. It took me some time but I eventually identified it as a 1966 YGS1. I started the restoration a few years afterwards but had to put that on pause for about 15 years. It sat completely disassembled in boxes for that time. Got back to it this past December. Cleaned up and came together pretty easily. Not done yet but we're nearly there.

Was hoping someone would be able to identify what this pin is for. I took the bike apart so long ago that I can't recall where this goes.

Thanks,
Fernando

I was working in the local Yamaha Shop i "66.
Probably no long taken on Yamaha & Honda after Having British Bikes.
Pretty familiar with that model.
Pics need to come via some thing like "Imgur".
I just use "google photos" but im not very computer savy so only end up posting a link, but easy enough to hit the live link for a look.
Welcome from NZ. Partzilla or CMSL could help id the pin if you look in the right area.

No sure if this helps but This link might be as near as you'll get on cmsl but says trailmaster although all parts go in the same place. Ist model had premix, no pump, not sure if yours has in "66.

I’ve linked a Imgur album below with the pictures. Hopefully this works.

Per the original post, I'm trying to identify where this pin goes. I've searched through Partzilla and the Yamaha exploded views but nothing has jumped out at me.

As found:

Sorry, no luck with the imaging. Keep trying.
I use google photos but i'm certainly no expert at this.
www.google.com/photos/about/
It gives an option to share on the top right.
Hit that & then you hit 'creat code' then copy & past it here'.
Maybe not the ideal option but works for me.
Can also create an album & then paste one link to shows them all.
I still can't work out how to post a live pic but not too worried.
"Imgur" though seems to be the popular one on the forum so i'm sure ya nearly there & hopefully someone here can help you through to posting the image.
But--can you give dimentions of the pin. Is it small?.
I'm wondering if it's the little pin that drives the rotary valve--locates the valve in the corect orientation. But just guessing.
I'll post a pic of one if i can find one.
Ok look at this link below & #11 pin fits in the crank & disc valve is located onto it.

I’ll keep trying. I know the pin you are referencing and that’s not the one. The pin in question is maybe 2mm in diameter and about 50mm long (going from memory). One end of the pin has a small head and the other end has a small cotter pin at the end. The pin is clean and almost looks fuel cleaned which suggests to me that it was part of the carb but I’m unsure.

Regarding pictures, each time I try to add a link to Imgur, I get a message that tells me I’m not allowed to add them. Guessing it’s because I’m new to the forum.
