Oh no snapped spoke was created by astro
I just snapped a spoke and I'm meant to be going for a ride out next week.
What do I need to buy and where can I get it from quick in the UK?
Its a rear spoke and a '76 DT175 (UK 1G1) it has an 18" rear wheel.

If you are in the south of the UK I literally can not recommend "Spoke & Powder" highly enough. +44 (0) 7881 950798
I went round there with little notice and the lovely Flo sorted out my parking, then searched through all her left overs and spare spokes and found not one but two possibles. Then let me have them for nothing (I forgot to take my wallet Doh!)
As Flo pointed out spokes that old and corroded can be brittle, so I think I have bigger issues to address, but for now I have a spoke back in and can make my ride out.
Thanks Flo!

I am having a similar problem with my DT125B rear wheel spokes. 3 broken spokes are keeping me from riding the bike I fell in love with. Where can a guy buy a set of spokes?

I'd just buy a new set from Yamaha since they are still available. www.partzilla.com/product/yamaha/443-25304-00-00
Or in the USA, Buchanan's has been a good aftermarket source for spokes for decades.

Back in the day on my offroaders, I used to tie any snapped spokes to the one next to it, to a max of three broken spokes. One broken spoke may just be a faulty spoke.
Three broken spokes means the rest are really fatigued, and require changing as they will all quickly start to fail.
Of course, it won't pass the MOT with a broken spoke, but just one broken one would not stop the ride for me. I would just replace it as soon as possible when I had the spoke and the time.
And since your bike is MOT exempt....
