DT400 and UFOs was created by Andy_C

I do not want to try and fix something that is not broke, the DT 400 C seems to be running pretty well.Having said that I have read many claims about UFOs – on not only this forum, but also the Kawasaki Triple forum that I frequent.Everything I read seems positive – better throttle response, better fuel economy, a little more power, slightly cooler running engine under certain conditions.They seem easy to fit, and apart from the slide which has the UFO fitted to it, you need to reduce the pilot jet by around 50%, and you can probably keep the stock main jet / needle, obviously you may need to fiddle with jetting / needle clip position.My question is, does anyone have “real world” experience of a bike with a UFO fitted?Do these UFOs do what people say they do, or is it “snake oil”?Better performance / fuel economy are desirable things, but is it worth the potential hassle and cost, or should I just leave the DT as it is and not try to fix something that is not broke?

UFO = Ultimate Flow Optimiser
You can find a description on this website: thunderproducts.com/product/ufo-ultimate-flow-optimizer/
Rather than me try to explain take a look at the website.
Cliff - I wil be asking the same question on another website that you frequent.

I have a UFO fitted to my DT2 but I can't say one way or another if it helps since I had porting done and put a much larger carb with the UFO on it at the same time. I can say that my DT2 doesn't get too great of fuel millage but then again it could be due to my other modifications.

I am surprised by the lack of enthusiasm, either for or against.

UFOs are great , I use ALOT ! of them for my customers that I do porting and carb mods for . If you want to give me a call we can talk more . The UFO does ifact give better response as well as more every where , I will make a round slide carb out flow a flat slide carb up to 7/8 THROTTLE  .  Rreason why you have to reduce pilot size is that the vacuum signal at the needle jet is increased , pullinf fuel through that system sooner than normal which overlaps the pilot jet transition ,

Interested but I believe my 250 has a 28 on it. Doubt the Banshee one will work, maybe it would.

Rich - great to see a posting from someone who has experience of UFOs.
You say that you do these for your Customers, so guessing that you sell / make them.
Would it make any difference to a bog standard state of tune DT 400 C?
Would be great to call / chat but probably be a little expensive as I am in the UK
