74 Dt125 seat pan was created by Anthony44

Anyone make a new seat pan out of sheet metal? I have nice foam but not trying to spend 250$ on a full seat from that taxavina website for a seat. my pan was rotted so bad that there was nothing left of it.

I know (and apologies!) that it's stating the obvious, but fleabay might be your friend here.

Widen your search to include any Yamaha seats of that era and compare them to your own. Many items are incorrectly described/identified by the sellers (not deliberately), so you might find what you need.

I have seen others on this site use fibreglass to fix seat pans. Fibreglass was applied directly over what was left of the seat pan.  Pretty clever solution I thought.

As someone who went from googling "is epoxy the same thing as resin" to fiberglassing my own flat track tail section all within a month span, I am going to second this suggestion.

If the old pan is metal and rotted rusty - I'd tape the top of it with masking tape. Flip it over. Lay the glass right on the underside and ensure it meets the shape. Do like 3 maybe 4 layers of cloth mat with epoxy resin. Let it cure. Theres your new seat base. Its not visible so who cares what it looks like... It'll be strong enough for new seat upholstery. But then again, maybe don't do what I would do cause I'm new to fiberglassing and there's probably a better way.

I'm almost done the process of sanding primer sanding primer wet sanding, etc. Here's a pic when it was one uniform color. I will be fiberglassing an actual seat base for upholstery next.
