this one has a second adjuster 6" down from the lever, there was bends there and at the bottom end bends that cause a stiffness

Hi - I gave up trying to buy a new clutch cable. I have very little luck in buying repro parts. They are generally crap in quality/measurements. I learnt that when restoring my VW campervan a few years back. I digress. I stuck with my old, original clutch cable and after wd40/lubing it, it was fine (I also replaced the barrel nipple on the end because that was very worn).
s8xor is selling a few original DT400B clutch cables on ebay (UK) at £40, incl postage. Don't waste your time/money with other sellers (like what I did)...

You can still buy the original clutch cable from Yamaha for that model.

I’ve used Dri Slide to lube my cables for over 40 years in my opinion it’s still the best
