fender identification was created by wayno
regarding my dt 400 project, the front mudguard appears to be salvageable but I am not sure if it's the original and worth the effort. is there anything to easily identify it by?

Morning Wayno!
Your DT400 and my DT360 share the same front mudguard and from what I can see, they look the same. I am attaching 3 photos of mine for you to compare with your own.
If you feel that yours is at bit "wonky", check out the 4 mounting bolts under the bottom yoke - like most of the external rubber grommets/bushes, they perish over time.
All the best.
Alan

thanks, looks just like mine, got to take the rear to a body shop and see if it can be reshaped and welded to a reasonable state at a reasonable cost, finding a replacement is proving difficult and the ones for sale are worse than mine...

The fenders for the '74 to '76 250/360/400 were the same part number I believe, I will have to check my parts books, but I am almost positive they are (front and rear).
Before I went the Preston Petty route for my 360A, I obtained a set of pretty nice take-offs from a '75 DT400B. I started to scuff up the front to repaint it. The rear is very presentable with the original finish, not dented. I would not mind parting with them.
Let me know and I can take pics and post up.
