Rx125 tachometer. Missing shim. was created by s900t8v

Hey guys reassembling my rx125 engine and I notice the taxho drive gear (white nylon) is missing the shim that goes between the engine casing and drive gear.

see parts diagram number 4

I was surprised when I disassembled that there was no shim.

i am wondering if this shim is for the black drive gears ?

I’ve measured the end float and without gasket it’s 0.6mm. With gasket probably 1mm that seems like a lot.

does anyone know the dimensions or should I pay 50 dollars for a new old stock washer lol (I know they’re 5.99 on partzilla + shipping to Australia.

so I am presuming I need this shim.

thoughts ?

This ebay.com listing has the dimensions shown within the text, should you wish to look for a generic one.

I have a generic shim in one of my CT1s, I purchased a pack.
Dimensions are often given in parts lists, the AT1 parts list confirms the dimension of the eBay listing Alan shared.
If you can't find the parts list for your bike but know the part number, using CMSNL to find where a part is used is a good idea then pick a parts list from the Tech Library here for one of the bikes the part is used on and see if the dimensions are given.
I've probably made that sound convoluted, but it's not really.

One, check carefully inside the cover for the shim.  "Stiction" often glues it to the cover.

Two, check solvent tank or area where cover was cleaned and stored...  floor around disassembly, etc.

Three, this "shim" looks a lot like an errant flat washer!

Four, very commonly lost...  and it's often missing.  I have never seen any ill effects of this shim missing and there are likely hundreds and hundreds of bikes running around without it.

Good advice - I have used this method to check hose lengths.
