Here's a link to the battery I got, you will also need to get a low voltage flasher or your turn signals wont blink they will just be steady.  I got the flasher from Napa for less that $5.

Welp, I finally ordered the Vape kit for my DT2. Hopefully this will help starting this beast as for some reason its a hard starter, even with fresh bore, getting gas and a light spark, I usually have to bump start it.

@Mark-
hvccycle.net/yamaha-dt-rt-dt250-dt360-dt...-12v-180w-7238799dc/
On HVCCycle, they show three different options for the DC kit P/N 7238799DC:
- Ignition Kit Only
- Ignition Kit With Lights And Battery
- Ignition Kit With Lights And Battery Eliminator

There are no "options" on the VAPE website for P/N 7238799DC.
www.vape.eu/en/yamaha-dt-250360400dc-version

So I am confused about this. Contrary to most of the other replies in the thread, I do not want a battery as I only be running a headlight & tail/brake. No turn signals etc. Not worried about being "legal" the rules are barely enforced where I live, if at all.

Does anyone have any insight on using Powerdynamo kit with no battery? i.e. direction on what I should be purchasing? For the 'battery eliminator' option, HVCCycle is showing $550 after shipping which is quite steep. I think VAPE is going to be somewhere around 475-500 after shipping & conversion, BUT, I have no idea if that includes whatever I need to delete the battery. I think this may have to do with a specific regulator to use?

The HVC "options" have nothing to do with the VAPE kit.  It's not the regulator.

You don't need anything special but the VAPE kit if you are only running head and tail/brake.  Lights at idle might be dim or "flickery" a little but will work fine without a battery or battery eliminator.  (I'm doing this on one of my off road bikes)

(Battery eliminator is just a big capacitor.)

P.S.  I think you are guessing high on what the kit will cost shipped directly from VAPE.

Ok great, I will just get the kit straight from VAPE and call it a day. Seeing the 'options' and everyone else running batteries on this kit just made me unsure. So I apprecaite the info

You were also correct re: pricing. It was $340 shipped to Pennsylvania. I suppose I like to always expect the worst so that things dont seem as bad as they could be lol.

Mine took 12 days to show up. But, I have a feeling I may have caused delay myself...

I swear I entered my billing AND shipping information when I placed the order on 3/19. But after a week I thought it was odd I hadn't recieved a tracking number or anything yet. So I logged on to my VAPE account on 3/28 and saw that there's a section where you fill out & save your shipping info.. So I entered that info. Next day I got my tracking number and two days later parts came in the mail. So maybe they were just waiting for that address or it was just a coincidence, who knows.

I don't have experience with the new owners (VAPE) but before they took over it only took 2 to 3 days to get orders from Powerdynamo (previous owner)
