What finish should I use on polished aluminum??? was created by noteforjim@gmail.com

Does anyone know what is the best finish to spray on the cases and forks etc. after they have been polished?

Any help would be appreciated

I leave them bare.
The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

You can apply any topping you choose however it will darken the brightness and will need to be removed anyway to do anything.

I recall earlier postings recommending an aerosol product called Gibbs Penetrant to prevent oxidation
of polished aluminium .

The only product that I apply to a freshly polished item is Acetone. The acetone removes all the black polishing compound completely without dulling the surface.

Polished my aluminum on my 250A and left it bare. I ride back roads and stone chips are unavoidable. I have been using Gibbs Penetrant for a few years now. It helps alot but you will still want to polish with Mothers alum polish once in a while to brighten it back up.
