1971 DT1F was created by msavitt

Sticker on head of frame says "VEHICLE ID NO" followed by DT1F and a 5 digit number.

Was there a DT1F in 1971?

I poked around the site and found a DT1E in 1971

Looking for next project constantly, this came along

any help from experts appreciated

thanks

Look at the VIN tables.  You haven't given enough information for an answer on what year you are looking at.

(Hint: There was never a model named the "DT1F"...)

DT1F is just VIN nomenclature. '71 is a DT1E, '72 is a DT2, and '73 is a DT3.

Thanks - I see now the difference between model and VIN.

seems like a nice restoration candidate, what do you guys think?  Are pistons as hard to obtain as the dt360?

Can hardly go wrong with any badge bike, especially a 250.

I think I agree with you
going to take a ride to check for completeness, condition, with goal of procuring if reasonably complete
I had a '69 when I was a kid, I think I paid $65 for it
