Well I’m gonna start looking for some parts does anyone know we’re I can buy some brushes and springs for the starter generator just got it about a week ago it runs and the electric start does work but I’m going to rebuild the motorcycle so my wife can ride it Yamaha doesn’t have any they are obsolete. Thanks

If no luck on fleabay, then Yambits in the UK sell repro brushes (see link below) and CMSNL in The Netherlands show the springs as being in stock.

Search by part number on ebay.  And try various terms. Some cheaper brushes from UK seller and springs did come up in US...  spring prices might have been high though.

Thanks MarkT does Yamaha have a OSI catalog if not I’ll go to my local dealer to double check fit.  This bike is 100%stock nothing is missing the lights,turn signals and horn work I lucked out Thanks

Maybe best to leave it alone seeing its working. Easy to see if there's not much left on the brushes or if the springs are close to resting on the brush guide. Then get some to have on hand when needed. There's 4 brushes of course so i gather the charging system is working ok as well as the starter side.
