Cool deal, hopefully most sellers care enough to correct it.  When I sell something on feebay I always say exactly what the part will fit so there's no ambiguity about it.

Again, can you describe better exactly what "too small" means?  There is a chance Yamaha superseded part incorrectly or I've seen previous owners modify bikes.  Would like to make sure you end up with a fix.

On the other thought I almost always add the term -fits to any ebay search.  Removes all those crazy results that say Fits:

Hey Mike, you should be able to see by the picture the diameter of the bolt is too small to fit into the nut...

Am I correct to assume by the previous picture that the wingnut attached to the stud could potentially be an M6 and the threads that it needed to go into could potentially be an M8? That’s my question?

Thanks for the picture.

Hate to be the one to bring this up but that's not the tab/hole for the oil tank bolt.  It's a few inches farther forward on a longer tab.

If you can't find it, post a picture of the area farther forward.

Red arrow shows the tab in your picture where you're trying to use the bolt.  I highlighted the tab where the bolt goes in yellow.

Easy mistake to make.  Especially if tank wasn't on the bike when you got it.

No7 looks like 6mm for sure--if i'm on the right wave length & subject--has the nut fallen of your bracket, or are you inserting it in the wrong mount. Be the seat mount 8mm that mark's pointing to i guess.
