Grew up with a 79 MX100, almost 40 years later, I picked up a 1978 DT250!

Hi everyone! Sinn from Pennsylvania.

This site has been such a help with getting things dialed in on my new to me machine so really appreciate this community already.

I keep an eye out for interesting two wheelers at auctions in my area and came across this!

(listed as a 77 but indeed is a 78)

Called them the day before and had them verified it's got a clean title which it does. I put my top dollar bid in, walked away at auction closing and came back half an hour later finding out I won. Went up the next day and picked it up and have been tinkering with it ever since.

Since then I've put fresh tires on, chain/sprockets and gone through all adjustments and the carb. Tank looks brand new on the inside, overall it's a fantastic bike and freshly inspected for public use up at my buddy's cabin which is nothing but dirt roads to travel on.

I'd say it's 90 percent of the way there mechanically with me chasing down the other 10 percent which is stumbling at 1/4 to 3/4th throttle in the mid range.

Anyways, happy to have joined the two stroke group but on what feels like my little MX100's bigger brother!

Whoops, looks like I can't add the URL. Well it's a DT250 with approximately 9000 miles that I picked up for 800 bucks :)

'78 DT250 is a GREAT bike most popular colours seem to have been the red and the yellow but my memory tells me there was white and blue as well ( I don't know if we had the blue in Japan ?) Sounds like a lot of fun :)
