Hey guys a new member and new Yamaha enduro owner. I’ve got a question about the oil seal under the sprocket at the clutch actuator arm. 

Do I need to drain the oil before I change the seal? Since it underneath the engine near the drain bolt..

 Is there anything special that I need to know about before I start changing it?
 Sorry for such a simple question but I have never dealt with a clutch arm under the engine before.
I’m sure I will have many more questions while I’m getting this back back on the road. 
 
 

Unhook cable then undo 26 & 24 untill 24 either comes out or clears the slot in the arm. Then turn the arm away from the cable & it should slide out. Has a spring & washer down there too. Flick the seal out & replace then reverse the process. Its a fiddle to engage 24 into the slot & then you get half a turn of adjustment that lifts or lowers the arm. Just find the sweet spot for the half turn because if you go too far it'll bottom out  then you have to back up to get half a turn up n down to play with. Might need to hold it still with a philips while locking the nut--not too tight as pulls threads in the case!!.

ps, the half turn adjustment varies your play in the cable. There's possibly as casting mark under there for the ideal possition to start lifting the cluch. Not sure i'd worry too much about the but best starting near the mark or before slightly rather than after as the further around you go the more cable you need to adjust out, plus could make a slightly lighter lift at the handlebar lever starteing before but not too far.

I ordered the seal today along with the kickstarter seal it’s leaking really bad. But it’s a easy fix.
