Kill switch ? was created by ZEFER
I’ve been fooling with a 74 DT 250-A
basicly just cleaning 40 plus years of baked on dirt..oil …dirt with oil..the bike is-was a 2 nd kick machine before it got cleaned..nothing was disturbed or modified.. I did install a new front brake light switch. So I was in the headlight to plug new switch. I had the throttle and right side switch housing..so I took it apart and found it not connected to anything. It is a black wire with a white trace. It now is just hanging not hooked up…the kill switch grounds the coil ? So I should have spark without it being hooked up ? I

No . The kill switch only grounds the coil when activated .
With it's wiring disconnected , everything will work normally ,
but obviously it won't be killing anything if operated .

With the black/white wire hanging free you should have spark.

Thank you guys. I did get it running after getting the Black white trace wire out of the switch housing…so here’s what’s puzzling the wire wasn’t attached to anything and it had a dab of solder on the end…where is that supposed go once inside the housing ?
