DT360 CDI Box Rebuild Question was created by HugoF
Hi. Has anyone ever rebuilt one of these things?
Some performances on live sex cams can get pretty wild and experimental, which I find incredibly arousing.

I don't know of anyone that has rebuilt one. Most common failure is the very delicate pickup/trigger coll on that model.

Yamaha used to say if everything else test ok then replace the box [no test for that] Then ya go but a box & still doesn't go & you find its just an ill fitting multiplug. As MarkT says, trigger coil is sus on those. Two stage retard for starting then flicks to advance. White/red & White/green. Source coil is a common fail too--such fine windings.

If I remember correctly, these guys were members here a few years ago and developed some CDI boxes for the Enduros. Not sure if they would answer questions about the stock system if you reached out to them and told them what you're doing but they seemed like good guys.

The manual has a page on how to test the cdi box with a ohmmeter. I tried these tests and none of them checked out. Installed it anyway and it works great. Just thought I would share my experience with that in case you are trying the same tests. Maybe I misunderstood the manual or something. If you do unpot the cdi, I would love to see what’s inside. Cheers.
