With a fixed stator plate do those systems run minus a crank key to set or alter firing point. Just do it up nice n tight i guess.

I have a DT400E and a DT360A and both have similar or same contraption.  I set my cable so the little poppet opens 20 to 30 thou by feel, just enough to make it work.  I never get a kickback on either, but both fart on 2nd or 3rd kick when cold. 

I have a DT1E and it doesn’t fart but kicks back  hard if I don’t follow through
