Hello from Australia.
I am currently restoring a 76DT400 - fenders are proving to be a challenge.
In terms of paint matching, do you have any suggestions please?
Its obviously a light grey, I suspect its a low gloss but I vaguely recall the originals having a silver fleck in them (i cant tell for sure, even from the original brochure).

I can tell you that even a gentle polish on a buff wheel will melt the plastic so its very heat sensitive.
I have managed to get the black plastic side covers glossy enough to reflect my face just from polishing, but the fenders will need a fill and the whole paint process and i want to get to as close as factory condition as i can)

Any guidance appreciated.

I don't know if it's what you want to do for your restore, but I have seen guys that use a razor blade to remove a tiny amount of the top layer of the sun faded and dirty plastic to reveal what looks like new plastic beneath, an easy if time consuming fix that appears to restore the original finish. Would love to see a picture of your polished side covers.

I have reached out to another chap and he tells me the grey-ish plastic fender color is
Yamaha Silver Crystal Y155.

I will post some side cover photos next week. I used a box cutter blade on them to get the canyons out then wet sanded 320/1000/2000/3000/5000/7000 and finally novus#2 polish.
The big issue is the plastic is impure and the impurities pick up under then sand paper and scar the part.
Once you get to the base plastic underneath all the scarring and the oxidation, you can actually see the marbling from the molding process.
