Battery for 1974 DT360A Help! was created by warmblood58

Other than the Yuasa 6N4B-2A-3 that comes via Amazon with no battery acid, what are owners using that fit our tiny battery trays that offer good power and reliability? Help!

I use the Yuasa/EnerSys NP4-6 sealed battery which can be installed on its side. you need to add some slide on terminals but it works well, lasts longer than a stocker, and needs no maintenance. At the price they can be replaced yearly, but last longer.

Yes, the battery needs to lay on its side to fit, which is why the gel type works. I have that battery in all of my DT400's (which use the same battery box) as well as in my Suntank DT1 also installed on its side in a custom mounting. I put a small foam piece over the top of the terminals in case the battery were to slide forward just as a precaution. I can't find a picture handy.

That is essentially the same battery, but it uses its own leads instead of the slip-on terminals. Either will work great.

Weird! I have the same battery and the width laying on its side is fine but my battery well so tight that I would have to force battery down by bending battery tray ends as it is too long- I am guessing that the 360 box is possibly smaller?

I had the same problem on my 360.  Standing up it was way  too tall. Even laying it down on it's side it was a bit too long but only by about 1/8 inch. My work around wasn't exactly by the book but I made it work. I cut a one inch pine board to the needed length and after rounding the corners just a tad to get it started I drove it down into the battery box which stretched the walls just enough to allow the battery to fit inside. There's no extra room on the ends but it fits. Little tricky connecting the leads but it's do-able.

I just looked at the specs on the battery that Bradmond recommended above and it looks like it would fit without any modifications to battery box so bookmarked for future reference.
