1974 DT250 Gas Tank Compatibility was created by Jcb1994

Hello! First post on here. I am rebuilding a 1974 DT250 I picked up for free. It's a "complete" bike but it's in rough shape.

At some precious point, the tank was caved in pretty bad and they tried to repair it with bondo. They then caved it in AGAIN after that. I reeeally don't want to try to mangle this tank back into a somewhat normal shape so I'd like to find a replacement. Trust me, the tank looks fine in that photo but on the other side, it's a horror show.

What tanks will fit my bike? Of course, I can pickup another 1974 DT250 tank but it's super expensive. I see maaaany other cheaper options but they came off the smaller 1xx engine'd bikes of the same year. Are the tanks the same across the models? Or would a 250/360/400 tank be the only way to go?

ALSO! This bike has some "Bassani" exhaust setup on it. I don't see any markings on the pipes besides a Bassani sticker on the rear can. The expansion pipe is aftermarket, as well, but has no markings on it. It looks like it was specifically made to fit the DT250 though. Anybody know anything about it? Some vintage aftermarket goodie?
