1974 DT360A - voltage regulator installation was created by msavitt
Hi All,
I just got done going thru my new ride end to end, she runs awesome!
I wanted to put a voltage regulator on the AC side that drives the headlight and taillight directly off the lighting coil and found the attached 6V regulator that is functionally equivalent (or so i think) based on inter-compatibility research i have done.
Anyhow, my question is, can i just tap into the yellow wire convenient, ground this puppy and be done?
Let me know your thoughts,
thank you
Martin

Yamaha recommend tapping into the blue in the headlight bucket - see link below.
You can mount it where you like - horn bracket and fork clamp bolt are popular. And you already know that it needs to be earthed!

hello! I currectly having my headlight and taillight blowing on me on my dt360 1974 yamaha enduro. I bought that exact regulator but I installed it to my yellow right after it coming out of my mag. I see you guys mention putting it on the blue instead? And in the headlight bucket? I attached a wiring diagram is it the one I pointed to with arrows? Did that end up working for you?
Please let me know and thank you!

Posting the similar questions in 10 places is not helpful and will get confusing for you and everyone else.
Search on here and you'll find a ton of info. US model bikes have taillight running off battery. I asked you other questions in your first post on this that I'm not going to repeat here... BTW, is your battery good?

Hello Mark! Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it. My battery is older but it holds a charge really well. I noticed your other questions as well. I bough a voltage reg on ebay. Its actually the same one some others on here have bought. Im curious if it worked for them. Heres a link to it or I attached a photo if youd rather. -

I've used this same regulator 3 times, cheap and works great and the little flickering light is cool too
