"Does anyone know how to remove the reservoir from the master cylinder body."

It looks like the same one as on a RD400 etc and my procedure outlined below assumes that it is.

There should be two screws in the bottom of the plastic reservoir - remove these. Then gently lever up the reservoir body by putting a thin, flathead screwdriver blade, or such like, between it and the base, going round each side a little at a time. It will eventually pop out and you will see that the reservoir has a circular "seat", with an 'O' ring on it, and this sits in a corresponding hole in the base.

Here's an image of one I've previously dismantled - I popped the screws back in the base for safekeeping.

Thanks. While it looks the same it doesn’t have the screws the body is just sitting there.  From what I can see there’s an o ring and I saw one article saying to twist it 90 but it doesn’t want to budge and I don’t want to break it.

I guess for now I’ll make do. But if it sticks or fails again and I have to spend another 50-60 on seals I will pursue dismantling it fully to clean it.

Mirrors should be lefthand thread on the right mirror only.
On thinking about it that doesn't make sense as would be undoing towards you so if not tight then the wind at 100mph on the RX could blow it around towards you.
Same with the left side with normal thread. But that's how it is down here on my RX's by memory.

Not sure what this is on but looks dangerous if yours fits in like that.
Think i'd avoid taking yours off!!.
When bleading up the empty system i mostly fill it from the bottom to the top then just blead it normaly once you have plenty of fluid up top in the reservoir. Works for me if its a grumpy one.

Hey some updates

I rebuilt the master cylinder but it did not work because the tiny metering port was full of corrosion.

My reservoir is rhe style without the bolts holding the reservoir to the master cylinder. The reservoir simply twists off. The o ring is 39.7x3.5 according to another post on the forum but I lubricated mine with rubber grease and it went back on fine no leaks..

rhere was a blockage in the brake line but a few pumps fixed that and so I rebuild the caliper too. All fit  and working great brake is not binding or dragging and has a nice positive brake lever feel.

this photo shows the tiny metering port. I ran the master through the ultrasojic cleaner to get it clean without damaging the orifice size.
