1973 CT3 attaching clutch push screw to push lever was created by Hercules Amadeus Amóre

Hello, new here and restoring a 1973 CT3. I think the title says it: can anyone tell me how to attach the clutch push screw to the push lever while putting the oil seal between them and what tool to use? Thanks!!

Ok, i'll use the words in the parts list to avoid me confusing things with my own terms. The seal can only be replaced when a new 'screw push' is getting a new 'lever push'. What you write has me thinking that's what you're actually doing now?. Bit of grease on the seal, slide it on then rivet the lever to the push screw bit. Then grease the wormy bit of the 'screw push' & sit it right in the hole & with the lever well down about where it sits at rest normally. Then screw the nylon outer on but have to start it on the right one & i guess you get three shot of getting it right. Then when you're sure you have the right start worm then wind it hard home so it pulls the seal back into place in the nylon bit. If i'm wrong & you just want to do the seal, im sorry but can't do it without removing the lever--which puts you back to needing a lever & worn--screw push thing. The '70 & '71 run in the case but '72 & '73 run as i described with the nylon outer. If yours is the early type your in slightly more trouble. Hope i've not confused thing too much.

Actually just clarify that a bit, when you fit the lever on a new push screw it'll have enough past the lever to rivet or flatten over. My method 40 years ago used to be find a tapered punch or something to spread it slightly so it holds the lever tight then rivet it over enough to be safe. Just mentioning this because you need to be careful not to fold the centre hole over a bit while riveting as the adjuster needs to poke through a little. Also don't loose that rubber thing that fits in the slot to stop dirt getting through to the magneto. Never did work out why they cut that bit out then came up with a bung to fill it .

Thanks! I guess I'm going to put them together and try to use a rounded punch on the inside of the screw and try to flare it out over the end of the lever.
