MX Fuel tap seal was created by 750kr1
Hi Everyone,
Just after a little advice please, I have a US imported DT400 fitted with an MX tank, I purchased a genuine new fuel tap about 7 months ago, for whatever reason the valve seal is faulty, maybe the increased ethanol in our fuel, anyway Im struggling to find one in the UK, its 22mm diameter and 3mm thick with the 4 holes, all the Yamaha parts suppliers just try to sell me a new tap complete at £96, any other models that use the same tap ? or even other manufacturers.
Any help be appreciated

It would be helpful if you could be a bit more descriptive on what you have...
In the USA, "MX" stands for "motocross" models... In other countries like the UK, "MX" was used to designate the "monoshock" road legal Enduro models.
Another challenge is that a new Yamaha petcock (fuel tap) purchased recently may be a completely different manufacture and design than originally installed when the bike was new and there may not be repair parts available. I have had this issue with the DT175 monoshock model.
Final thought is pictures (uploaded to a 3rd party site and linked here) would be very helpful... also depending on what tank you have, there are genuine Yamaha petcocks from more modern models that fit and operate perfectly and cost considerably less.

I recall from a thread a few years ago that some petrol taps listed as genuine Yamaha weren't.
