I need to add to my earlier post about the XS650 actuator. The arm needs to be bent so that it lines up with the hole in the the sprocket cover for the cable. Also I have seen one like this with a slight crack in the nylon.

I bought several reproduction actuators 5 years ago. These have not been available for awhile. I have them in 3 of my regular riders. Some members on the forum have experienced the nylon slipping on the splines of the insert with these. It is possible that this was caused by heavier clutch springs being used. I have not had any problems with mine. I also have 2 reproduction actuators that are all metal. They were intended for racing with heavier clutch springs.

Send me a PM if you are interested in a nylon one.

The mod that DEET and others have done is a good solution.

The plasyic gear on my push lever assembly (RT3 part # 214-16340-00-00) is cracked. Is there a solution, if so how can I order one? Thanks!!

Yep, Type One, you're spot on. I think I saw somewhere else Makotosun mentioned MikesXS as well. That kit from Mike'sXS is about the only game in town... currently (2021).

www.mikesxs.net  Part # 39-6518

The problem I'm seeing presently is a shortage of suitable "Push Screw Housing(s) (371-16396-00  4 fluted). Whereas you can fairly easily find the mating "Push Lever Assy" 371-16396-00, 278-16340-00 or 1T31634000.

So, I'll think I'll try one!  Thanks guys for the help. I'll follow up later with results and pics.

Ignore the mess but here my 278 RD or R5 clutch actuator 4 start nylon outer. One finger clutch, works great.

Is it a nice free cable. Does the actuator in pic two have clearance & is it binding in the case as that one runs in the alloy unlike CT3's with a nylon outer to run in. There's a small spring to help the actuator arm go right back. Sometimes--had it on my DT1--where the helical clutch & crank gears under load try to force the mainshaft sideways taking up any free play so maybe give it an extra clearance on lever & actuator to prove a point. That's clutching at straws as unlikely, but!!. Old steels still work good & Orings left out so even better. New plates "even pirate ones" should still grip good so umm, i'm no use at all lol.--& my AT1--175 top end slips so better get too it & fix.
I'll just add that if you give extra clearance & the worm, sorry actuator is dry & binding & return spring on the arm is uselless then you'll gain nothing in testing as will still likely sit against the rod rather than clear it. Same goes for a binding cable.

Ok so I figured I'd try a DEET / HAMMER mod on one of my covers. Does it matter if you use parts from an R5 or RD350?
Looking through past post, those are two I see mentioned.
