The answer is in the service manual. There is an extra wire for optional more charging. Do not use the white out of the stator, leave it hanging.

There were several configurations of wiring... probably 4 or 5. Some did not have an extra wire. The ones with two greens (one striped) and a white plus the yellow and the black/white used the greens for day and night charging and the white was extra.

That is exactly what I have done I have keft the white/red out of the stator
I did read somewhere in a manual you can boost charging by chenging wiring posistions
