This link should take you to the Yamaha website with the parts diagram for a 1973 CT3

Thanks Mike. I have found many lists but, the part number for a ring set is wrong. The rings I have gotten are too small. My cylinder bore is standard at 66 mm. The rings I receive are 59.2 uncompressed. I think the part number I'm receiving is for a 125cc not 175cc.
P/N 314-11610-10-00
Pretty sure that is not correct.

Also, there are parts lists at the back of this pdf.
Vintage Yamaha Enduro Fans - 71-73 100cc-175cc combined factory service manual and parts catalogue
And check out the CMSNL and Partzilla sites - these may have up to date part numbers if a supersession has occurred.

Wow, sorry that's the wrong part number Tsmitty, that is strange. Hopefully GR8Uncleal's catalogue works.

The old rings are in good shape. I was only going to replace them because I have the motor apart to replace bearings. Cylinder and piston all good too.

314-11610-10-00 ring part number is not correct if you have a standard piston.
Pretty common to have issues due to shared parts lists that were poorly combined decades ago when they were digitized. And also lots of mismarked and misidentified parts out there. If you bought from ebay it can be a crapshoot.
Dozens of posts here about the importance of the prefix (model code) when using a shared parts list. 314 prefix is correct for the 175 rings. 316 prefix is for the 125. So if the packaging was marked 314-11610-00 (standard CT2/3 rings) they were mismarked and you were sold the wrong rings that were relabeled or put in the wrong box at some point.
(And unfortunately the prefix is not an exact science for every single part, sometimes you have to use experience and common sense to figure out what part number fits what model, but 314-11610-00 is the correct 175 standard ring part number in this case)
I'd contact Dave (Enduronut) here and see what he has.

Thanks Mark. This makes a whole lot more sense to me. I'll try a more reputable seller other than eb.

+1 on Marks suggestion of Enduronut (Dave). I just bought a standard set of rings from him for my little JT mini Enduro. He is a great guy to work with.
