1973 RT-1 360 was created by Rooster57

I was looking through the wiring diagrams for a color diagram of my bike 1973 RT 360  . The closest I can find it the 71 RT1 B 360 . I wonder if they are the same ?  Thanks

 from near Salisbury, UK.

Check out the Tech Library for manuals.

Attached is a link to the Owner's Manual for the RT3. If you have a1973 model (colour is Baja Brown), then you have a RT3. If you have a 1972 model (colour is silver) then you have a RT2. You can also cross reference your VIN and engine number in the VIN tables in the Tech Library.

Oh, and wire colours for each function are the same throughout the Yamaha model range of this era - eg horn is always a pink wire and a brown wire. Most other manufacturers also have the same wire colour for each function, albeit that the colours used are different.

I own and I have wired both a 1971 RT1 and a 1973 RT3. The wiring is almost identical although they do have different part numbers; the 71 is 233-82590-21-00 and the 73 308-82590-20-00. I honestly don't see any difference.
