I've bought about 6 pipes and they were all shipped in boxes using crumpled paper or bubble wrap for filler. Always come out undamaged. Sometimes the boxes were a concoction of two larger boxes cut-down as opposing 3 sided panels and taped all around.

All the pipes I've received have been in boxes too. No damage. So I'm not much help.

I did buy a frame for my DT50 project. It was simply wrapped in shrink wrap with a label stuck to it. No damage at all but a frame might be tougher than a pipe.
