To all you folk in the northern US states and Canada too. Been keeping a close eye on the horrendous weather you are all experiencing lately.  I know you are used to cold conditions but we are being told it's the worst for 30 years, and the number of lives lost is extremely saddening.  Sure I speak for many on this forum when I say take care in your communities looking out for each other particularly the old and vulnerable. Puts the recent cold UK Weather into perspective !

At 1st i thought we were in for it here in lower Michigan, but turns out it wasn't to bad. Temps were  - 2 and wind chill  - 24. Not much snow either, maybe 6 inches. Still could heat up garage to about 55 degrees with my trusty little heater. Today will be upper 20's and by this weekend 51 degree's out. Crazy weather!

I know crazy weather-1 Thursday night lots of frozen pipes no water for Memphis Tennessee thank goodness I live in the suburbs that has water. They are bringing tanks full of water to the hospitals Crazy 

I’m about 45 minutes south of Duluth Mn… we got lotsa snow, but not like Buffalo did… they must be tired of all that snow removal…. We did get cold and 4 days without power was enough for me.. We helped peeps in our neighborhood. Those who live in the trailer parks, really had it tough.. either they are elderly or don’t have sufficient funds or both… Our local schools was open and about full helping keep all that needed, warm and fed. Humbling times..

I grew up in Chicago and we had 100 year cold snaps and a blizzard every couple of years.

I'm in a northern suburb of Minneapolis. About 8 inches of snow here and bitter cold. I am saddened by the deaths across the country. I read that several people were found in their cars deceased in NY. So preventable, one should always assume your car will break down, slide into the ditch or get stuck in this type of weather. Always leave the house with proper clothing on or in the car. I hope everyone is well, the cold went pretty far south where people aren't well equipped for this kind of weather.

Definitely hasn't been fun. I've had to shovel just to open my front door a couple times. And twice for neighbors that got stuck in drifts on my street. Wild times. 20 degrees feels like bathing suit weather by comparison.
