It came fitted to my UK model RD200B.

That is a channel down the centre and the sticker has been retro fitted.

Thanks.

Yamaha did that when they went to plastic fenders on street legal bikes...  channel was for wiring to be sandwiched between lower support fender and upper plastic fender.

Was there a later RD200 variant that had plastic fenders?  The fender looks like it fits so good...  doesn't look hacked...  and Yamaha was frugal and recycled parts and frames for decades sometimes.

We didn't get much in way of two strokes after late 1970's

I'm probably all wet.  I noticed it has tacked on wiring clamps too.  Those would interfere with fender cover.

Thanks Mark.

I'm thinking along the same lines as you. It is a good fit within the frame, but is too long for the Euro RD125/200DX bikes that the US didn't get (these were genuine half metal and half plastic), but the gap to the swing arm looks too large.

I've had a quick search of the internet, but no luck yet.

On further inspection of the part (ie looking on the underside), there would appear to be a part number label there!

Turns out it is for a 1981 UK on FS1. Unfortunately the muppet that fitted it hacksawed off the brackets that would have been used to fix it to the FS1 (the stubs are slightly hidden under the look at the back of the frame).

That would make sense.  The groove down the middle will provide clearance for the welded together flange on the two half stamping  spine frame.

Not quite the same part, but item 5 on the attached shows the brackets that were hacked off.
