DT/RT1,2,3 aftermarket sprocket cover was created by 1971DT250

Got this today. Appears to be an accessory aftermarket sprocket cover for use in the mud or racing. Well made. I've never seen one before.

I think it looks like YZ250/360 from 74-76, probably a rare and expensive part to find.

Yes, looks like an early YZ.  But be careful, they were fragile and people like me made our own which were even MORE fragile.  I would NOT use it on anything but a showbike (which is about all those early YZs are now.  The originals would have been black.

Thanks for the info. I looked at some pictures of early YZ motocross bikes and it looks identical. It had a 3 flute clutch actuator and spring that were mangled. I replaced the spring and post. It was black but most of the paint was flaked off. I cleaned it up. It was listed as an aftermarket Enduro part. There are no markings on it. It is in very good condition with only minor scuffs and scratches. No chain rash or battle damage. eBay has a NOS one listed for $850.00. (WOW). It also looks identical to the one I have.

If anyone needs one for their YZ send me a PM. Otherwise I'll keep it and maybe hang it on the wall in my office.

This is before I cleaned it up.

Think they're magnesium? on the YZA or B. I'm still kicking myself for letting mine go on a bitsa bike years ago. Hope the nylon worm is ok as split longways & expand when pulling the clutch & make it hard to pull.

It appears to be aluminum and yes the nylon spiral was cracked.
