toting items was created by dailyrider

How creative have You had to get when on two wheels and a grocery store run is needed ?
I look for every opportunity to ride, and with the
price of petrol, that's a good excuse, none really
needed, but... My old Bronco is fun to drive, not
so much watching the gas gauge plummet quickly,
however. I took my British bike to town for it's
exercise this morning and for the above reason.
I employed two backpacks, one on back, the other
wore on front side. Quite a load, but got it home.
The hot dog buns didn't fare the trip too well,
surprisingly, the bread did ! Others in their cages
had loaded their groceries, and were ready to
leave the lot, but hadn't as I'm guessing they were too curious to see how this nut was gonna pack it all and ride off ! Well, I was successful, the 51 year old bike and it's 61 y.o. owner got it slung on, 1st kick, and out of town, in the wind !!!
So what's Your toting tips ?

Nice job!

I bought an old bike once that literally had horse saddle bags over the rear fender...  that looked pretty useful but unfortunately the leather was rotted beyond repair

When Gr8auntiepat and I first got together we couldn't afford a car, so she carried the shopping home sitting pillion on my Honda CB750F1 (nice bright yellow one!), one shopping bag in each hand. She did mention that, very occasionally, she considered jettisoning the shopping when the ride got a little "exciting"!

Think I might have posted this on another thread, but seems appropriate under this topic. Northern Minnesota to Colorado and back on an AT1 in 1970. (Put the knobby on to climb in the mountains)

I remember once having a friend on the pillion (of a Sanglas 400) sitting backwards holding a large tubular metal frame driving through the centre of Dublin , we were "making" our own sidecar

sitting backwards is scary on a bike .....
Needless to say the sidecar never happened , but I do have one nowadays a Watsonian Palma  , strapped to an XS1100 a very weird driving experience , ive always wondered what a motocross sidecar would be like
Regards
Bill
